Saint Nicolas sits on his ass to visit each houses in the night of december 6. His mission is to reward the wise children in the bringing some delicacies and small gifts back.In the evenning of december 5, before going to sleep, the children put down in front of the chimney, their small shoes or hung one big sock up so that Saint Nicolas put down the presents! They sometimes prepare a glass og milk for the great saint and carrots for the ass. In the morning of december 6 the children get up to discover some presents laid down by Saint Nicolas in the night. That's a legend told by parents to offer gift to their children.

Saint Nicolas was one of my favourite day. That reminds me my childhood and the wonderful presents which waited for me on the table of the living room. I was a little dissapointed when me relatives told me the truth, but it didn't prevent them from bringing me some sweets for my pleasure.
